A beautiful image. I like the colors and the form of the dead weeds. I might try cropping closer to the edge of those weeds and make it a vertical presentation.

You have pictured this handsome little fellow so well Barbara, and what I like the best is the moody look of the background with the light colors. It is also nicely softened for the bird to stand out in an excellent way.
The bird is in sharp focus showing clear and well defined details, and because of the perfect exposure a fine shine is brought out in the black feathers.
The photo is also nicely cropped, and the bird has got a fine placement off to the left. Indeed a lovely and well taken photo, and with an excellent DOF.

Look we need to talk..." ..lol..oh yeah I can story unfolding right now..wink. the clarity is great. The angle of the shot of this bird looking like he is talking to you is great. The capture of the light is great. The image is balanced and eye appealing to the viewer. Good eye and great job overall.

The red winged blackbird is standing out excellently from the neutral tones in this background, he is also well placed in the frame, and well posed on the stem, I see impressive detail in his black feathers, his face and love the open beak, he must be singing, that beautiful red/ yellow patch stands out and shows great detail too, I appreciate the clear eye with catch light! This is well focused, the image is clear, exposure is well managed, the colors and tones appear natural, well composed and presented!
