A very eye appealing color in this beauty,very lucious indeed! My guess is that it is a type of peony tulip,whatever it is,it is definitely pretty. Nice square format to show this off. Wonderfully crisp focus,beautiful texture and details throughout!

I am guessing neither. It is a tulip. I saw some of these for the first time at a tulip farm. Well captured to show the unusual shape and colors. Lovely image full of fire and color. Well seen.

Well first of all, it's absolutely GORGEOUS! You have photographed this rose or peony so very well , I like the angle of shot allowing a good look at its shape and structure and the layers of petals folding back one on top of the other, perfect focus , the image is clear, exposure is well managed, the colors are natural , well composed and presented, I'm going to guess it is a peony but I have never seen one in these colors!

A very beautiful picture of this beautiful Rose like flower BUT knowing the ability of the Dutch to cultivate & grow many exotic looking varieties I'm not sure if it's a Peony or a Rose I await your answer tomorrow.
