Wonderful capture of the pleated woodpecker. I did not know it was the second largest and since it is probably extinct would it not be the largest? lol Did not know how to tell male from female either. You are a great source of knowledge. Beautiful shot

Well you must of waited for sometime to get this or know of there behavior patterns, great pose, love the curves and that "S" shape.

The highlights on the black feathers is a must this gives that seperation, and how well those blacks are complimented with that red crest! Good luck with the contest!

Wondeful red that is striking here on this bird, how intriging is the Eye here with the white and black mixture of colours. I really like this bird and wish it was in Australia.

This is a wonderful shot of the bird!. You have framed it well. The light and shadows, colours and the composition have worked out well. Good effort!

The piece is too busy, making it difficult to see were one bird start and the other hands

also, the background is too bright and distracting

good luck with the contest and thanks for sharing

Thank you,it would have been nice if she had picked a different spot.

I like the close view of this bird. They are gigantic for a woodpecker. You captured the colors well and the feathers stand out nicely. I like the unique rectangular holes that they literally drill with their beaks.

Very nice shot of this pileated. Good focus with strong details. Nice colors. A slightly different angle. The background is a little confusing. Well seen. Good luck in the contest.

I love seeing this woodpecker on the ground working on this rotted log, she is beautuful with her red cap! She is well focused, the image is clear, exposure is well managed, colors and tones are natural. I see good detail over every part of this bird, appreciate her clear eye! Well composed and presented! Best wishes to you in the contest!
