Hi Lucas, There is a movie called "The Little Shop of Horrors" It's more of a comedy than a horror move. This plant reminded me off the movie and the hungry plant called Audrey within it. Thank you SO MUCH for the review that got this into recognized status. I'm glad you enjoyed the image and thought I did a good job presenting it here. It really means a Lot! :o) Helvi

I do not understand your reference to a shop but I do see that you have posted a fine nature photo here! Your full, central and almost macro composition allows us a great look at your fabulous plant. Exposure and sharpness are good. Nicely done!

Hi Nik, There is a movie called "The Little Shop of Horrors" It's about a carnivorous plant that gets out of control. It actually speaks and say's "Feed Me!" It seems like every time you turn around it wants to be fed. The movie came out in 1960. Rick Moranis plays Seymour who works at Mushnik's Flower Shop along with his fellow worker Audrey. Struggling from a lack of customers, Mr. Mushnik decides to close the store, but Audrey suggests he may have more success by displaying an unusual plant that Seymour owns. Immediately attracting a customer, Seymour explains he bought the plant, which he dubbed "Audrey II", from a Chinese flower shop during a solar eclipse Attracting business to Mushnik's shop, the plant soon starts to wither. Seymour accidentally pricks his finger, and discovers that Audrey II needs human blood to thrive. The movie was remade in 1986. Look it up just for fun When I saw the plant I posted it reminded me off that movie. This cacti looks like it has big red teeth and a gaping mouth. I thought it would fit the perfectly with that movie. Hope this information helps you know where I was coming from. Thanks for the Great Review! :o) Nancy

Lovely crisp and good level of clarity that shines through with this image. Lighting and angle is good and the background works well to help to enhance the overall piece. Good work

You looked at those old movies again, didn't you?
But....Jep, I hear it too. I won't do near it.... I like you humor. This is a well taken photo. It shows nicely defined detail. The mouth seems indeed open surrounded by many little sharp teeth, red as blood. The blurred background emphasizes the succulent and is adequate for your story.

Yes I did! LOL This cacti seemed so perfect for "The Little Shop of Horrors. If those red projections don't look like teeth I don't know what does! Love to add humor when I can to a shot I've taken. Love to share the fun aspect of the image. THanks My Friend for the wonderful review. I'm glad you enjoyed the image. :o) Nancy

Hey Nancy,

Now I don't want you to take this wrong OK? And I do NOT hold you responsible.

I saw this plant first and as you said it called out to me saying "Feed Me"! Well I attempted to feed it.

Unfortunately it Lunged at my hand and bit off part of my index finger! Nasty plant to be sure. I definitely learned a painful lesson. No hard feelings Nancy.

This is a cool shot with the way you brought out those Nasty Red Teeth. The contrasting red and green really look good together. Blurring the background was a great decision.

So missing finger Steve says "Well done Nancy" ~ Steve

I thought everyone knew to never heed the call of plants that bare red teeth. Their call has a hypnotic quality like sirens of the sea. Those who approach will suffer in one way or another. I wish I could have warned you not to get to close. :o) That being said, Thank you for taking the time to give me a great review, missing finger and all!
    :o) :o) Nancy
