Eileen why does this pelican look angry ? Did you steal his fish ? Damn Eillenn are things so tough that you have to steal a pelican's fish. Excellent job of capturing your subject's mood. Keep them coming .

Ha!! you do NOT want to mess with this guy Paul. He has been known to chase people off his little bridge he sits on :) Thanks for the review and the laugh Paul, both are very appreciated.

I really like the close and personal approach Eileen, and the way the bird is bowing its head showing off the fluffy feathers. I also think the light is falling on the head, and how well it is standing out from the dark background.
The photo is pin sharp showing such clear and well defined details, and both the white balance and exposure is spot on.
The slight cropping is working well and the bird has got a perfect placement within the frame. A truly lovely and well taken photo, and with an excellent DOF.

A very nice exposure for the white plumage. I like the way his gaze seems focused on his broken bill. Very good colors and beautiful composition.

A great image of this pelican, one not normally presented, the top feathers are particularly interesting to view, the eye almost has a sinister look to it-lol!Beautifully sharp focus and excellent lighting, perfectly presented in this great vertical format!

Nice shot, well captured. Your angle on the shot gives it a definite scowl in appearance. Love the fluffed head feathers. Good focus on the eye. Nice use of the sun to shape and shadow the head. Good background. I must say that the stuff on the lower beak bothers me, it keeps drawing my eye down. I wonder what happens if you crop it out? I know it is natural and is there, not something extraneous, but it is messy. Good background that makes the bird stand out. Well seen.
