I want to give this an All Time Best status and a 6* rating as well!

It I may still give this a name, it would be Suffocating Nightmare!

An artistic rendition. Monochromatic subdued, warm colors. Excellent details & features. Impressive dramatic illumination & smooth textures. Thanks for sharing...

Great name. Thank you so much for your very encouraging review and Marvelous rating.

I appo0logize for not being more active in reviewing or posting of late. I seem to be in a funk/slump for some reason. Yet this too shall pass. Thank you again my friend ~ Steve

Every I look at this all I see is a open book that is disintegrating and vaporizing into clouds of smoke. I expanded that into a metaphor about all the written annals of history and their lessons and how they are evaporating before our eyes as the leaders of the world and the people who put them in power continue to forget and repeat the mistakes of the past. Figuring out a title for that has perplexed me, but I have enjoyed letting the piece pierce my imagination. Ed.

    Hey Ed,

Thanks so much for your review and comments. I like your metaphor. How true it is. Seems like we never truly learn from the past. I guess people are going to be people no matter what past folks have experienced. And in reality no one is really Important. I bet a thousand years from now there will be only a hand full of people talking about you and me and our photography. Ya think? ; )

    Thanks again Ed ~ Steve

Alway very welcome, Steve. Somewhere along the line in my education I learned about the fallacies of ahistorical thinking. Maybe some distance future relative will see one of photos and smile or think deep thoughts. We can wish.

This looks like a few different things to me. Granite, or wood grain... maybe a resin piece. Either way I look at it, its absolutely amazing! I love the color combination... I wish I could come up with a title that would do it justice. Thank you!

Thank you so much Jennm06. This is what I see also. I have no idea as to what title to give it. I lack imagination so that is why I have asked those with artistic talent and imaginations to come up with a title.

I very much appreciate your review Jennm06 ~ Steve

I am not great at understanding abstract art, but I do have a vivid imagination to guess what this looks like to me.
I see thin slabs of very old petrified wood planks. The piece has been cut to just the right width, to let golden light shine threw. The age lines are from the 100's of years of growth. Even in death, these planks will be reused as art pieces, furniture, and keepsakes, that have already outlived most of us.
I think the image is Petrified Beauty.

Thank you Shirley. Excellent observation. When I took the original photo that is what I thought it was. I did do some after photo work to change it up a bit. I am new at posting Abstract images and I love seeing all the different interpretations that people come up with. I guess that is why they call it Abstract. Thank you again Shirley for your Wonderful observation ~ Steve

After you find a name I hope you will release what the original photo was?

Hey, it IS Eddie Munsters forehead! How did you know?

Thanks for the review Mark. I have no idea what this is supposed to look like. Eddie's forehead is a good a guess as any ; )

This is an intriguing image. It looks a lot burning paper and the rings in the bark of trees and it also has the pattern of fungi! Makes for a great abstract image where the viewer can use their imaginations.

Thank you Grace for your input. Yes this one is a bit more difficult to interpret. It is so interesting to see the different takes by different people of the same image. It actually tells more about the viewer than the image. Thank you so much Grace ~ Steve

Great abstract, Steve. A true Golden Delight with the bronze and gold metal pieces grabbing the attention. Could be some new fabric invented or a close up of a bird's beautiful feathers, or the inside of an erupting volcano.... Love all the different patterns and shades in this. Great composition. Suzanne

Lovely abstraism here , the color and detail shines through so nicely. It isn't very intriging to really look at the elements at play in this work. Great job and thanks for sharing

OK Steve, you might try to pass this off as an abstract, but this is clearly a photo of "Mountains of Mars" taken at sunrise. I know you travel all over to get amazing photos of exotic locations, so it doesn't surprise me that you went to Mars to get this one! haha! Seriously though, this really is a cool abstract, and as with all good abstracts everyone sees something different. But anyone who doesn't see Martian mountains is just wrong ;) I like it!!!

Dave, as you may know I was in the military for 26 years and often worked with NGO's (Non Governmental Agencies). This Mars idea is Classified and I can neither confirm or deny. The "Mountains of Mars" image does not exist if you are asked ; )

Great title David. Thanks for the Extra Special rating. Remember "Mums the Word".
