The light is especially well used. How it falls on the butterfly from the right emphasizes the body features of the butterfly significantly. The insect is well focused. The details if its body are pi9n-sharp. Its belly seems to glow in the light. The colors are realistic. The shallow background emphasizes the butterfly beautifully. The insect is excellently placed into the frame. The composition is balanced.

A very beautiful photograph of this lovely butterfly, that red coloration on the thorax is stunning! the light makes the golden scales on the abdomen appear to glow and the patterning on the underside of the wings is beautiful.A nice crisp image that stands out nicely against the green backdrop. Beautiful contest entry,I wish you all the best!

First class nature study Eileen butterflies are not the easiest subject to get close to let alone take!

That green backdrop is perfect to show off the insectm the light also is perfect, nothing wrong with your camera knowhow for the subject is perfectly sharp!

This is a beautifully colored butterfly. It's markings are so pretty. Another one I have not seen in person. Your exposure shows off the colors nicely and the shape of the antennae are even attractive!

I think this is a truly beautiful butterfly Eileen, and you have pictured it so well. The light is falling on it in a lovely way, and it is standing out from the softened green background in an excellent way.

Your focus is spot on and sharp showing such clear and well defined details both in the body and the wings of the butterfly, and the exposure is perfect.

When it comes to the composition I think the placement of the butterfly is a bit too centered, and since the white spots on the left can be a bit distracting, I would have cropped more on this side. Still a truly beautiful and well taken photo, and I wish you luck with the contest.

I took your advice and redid the cropping, better? And thanks so much for the tip.

You are more than welcome, and it is much better after the cropping.
