Great work here John. I think you rose admirably to the challenge of Mark.
I like the details and the almost abstract nature of this work. The repeating twigs with buds is a great idea. Well done john ~ Steve

Hi John, You and Mark came up with a great idea. I saw his Pussywillow in cat form. Love how you created a design with pussywillows. This would be a perfect design for wallpaper, especillay with a blue background. Looking forward to see what else you guys do. Nice Job! :o) Nancy

This reminds me of fabric or wallcovering. I like the almost repeated pattern of swirls with pussyfoots amidst the leaf shapes. The black and white / greyscale works well in this abstract and challenge!

Very nice work of art. This could make interesting wall paper, either b&w or colored in. I don't see any tears so I guess it isn't a weeping willow. Nice variations in the patterns which help to keep it interesting. I gave MK another word to challenge you with. Thank you for sharing. Good luck in the contest.

Thank you so much. Recently my mother in law introduced me to Art at the beginning and ends of books. The binding the art you see before you even begin to read. It may be called Terkish book binding. And I just thought it was so beautiful and in a similar style of my own. And really enjoyed doing this one thanks you again for all the kind words. John

ROFLMAO! Well I smiled when she said it.. fireflies have appeared in my "Strange Critters" cartoons..one funny one just popped in my head..ok..I'm gonna let you go 1st..one time a young rooster showed up and told the old rooster his time up and he needs to leave. The old rooster ask.. why don't you just let me have these 2 old hens??. nope all for me ..the old rooster says with a evil grin.."Son how about I race you for it?".. the young rooster started laughing and said "old man I can run circles around you!..the old rooster still smiling says "son you have to give this old bird a chance.!"..the young rooster still laughing says.." ok old man..I'll tell you what! I'll give you a heads start! How does that sound?_...so both young and old roosters lined up at the starting line till one of the old hens cluck "Go!"..the old rooster springs out and trots around till reaching the halfway mark..then the young rooster darts out. Didn't take him long to catch up with the old rooster..lil did the Young rooster know is the final stretch passes by the farmers kitchen..as the young rooster gets closer and closer. The old rooster started frantically screaming and waving it's wings..the farmer looks out of the kitchen window seeing this screams "oh my God!" Runs and grabs his shotgun. Then comes out to the henhouse and shoots the young rooster. As the old farmer is walking away he mumbles "damn that is the 3 gay rooster I bought this month!"..the old rooster smiles and cuddles back with the old hens. One of the hens whisper "your so smart!" ..the old rooster grins and says "I know!".. wink
