Beautiful scenery creating a beautiful photo. We have many Alaska programs on TV and I am always watching it. When my ex dumped us here, I wrote to the Mayor in Alaska and asked if a lone lady, skilled in not only teaching, but able to do many things, with two young boys could come out there, feeling the water so to speak, but I got no answers. I have always fancied Alaska as a place to live but no answer- and also South Africa, but the latter only because they took in thousands of orphans from Germany post war! Not so sure about there anymore. Those blues and greens are gorgeous.

A very nicely composed shot that is perfect for this contest. The foreground detail is well defined and the colors are beautiful. Best wishes in the contest.

This is a part of Alaska that I haven't seen, it's beautiful in Skagway, and I like your point of view with the tall spruce trees on left and right growing at an angle to form a v pattern, the tallest peak in back under the pretty blue sky, this is well focused, the image is clear, exposure is well managed, the colors and tones appear natural in this lighting, well composed and presented! Best wishes to you in the contest!

Was this a contest from the past?

I won a place but I forgot if I ever joined this comp as my entry was a photo from two years ago!

Anyway, this impressive capture looks fresh & warm.

Diminishing perspective. Vanishing viewpoint.
I like the visual journey this one offers...
Impressive entry. Potential voters choice...

Best of luck in the contest!

Thanks for sharing...

This scene has a lovely sense of depth with the rich greens trees in the foreground that lead the eyes nicely to the background mountains. The composition is very nice.

better avoid what you call "adjusted for light" because the bright green areas of the pine trees are much too bright but still acceptable; the composition and focus are excellent;

    Once again thank you for your advice. Point noted and I have corrected it to good extent.

Very good entry for the contest. It sounds to have been a wonderful trip through the mountains. I like the angle you used for this showing the bright green fir trees in the foreground contrasting so well with the purplish mountains in the background. Very good lighting and focus. Great composition. Good luck in the contest. Suzanne
