Great drawing. I wish you luck in your pursuit. It looks great for children, especially for little girls. The birds eyes are comical, but I would have like more realistic eyes. Love the concept.

Hi Mark, Rhonnie is lucky to have you do the illustrations for him. The little girl looks thrilled to be going on her adventure. It definitely looks li it's going to be fun.
Love the fact that the bird looks totally surprised by the little balloon girl. You have a way of capturing the emotions just right. Always enjoy what you post! :o) Nancy

You are good at getting the fine details of your work so precise. The rope and the basket are very nice. I also really like the bird :) The image has a cute wholesomeness to it.

Man are you good with the sharpies. Great entry into the contest. Looks great. The expression on the girl's face says a lot. I like the fine lines, attention to detail and various colors used. Great job!

Sharpies and Bic..I marriage them decades ago. They both have similar ink quality. Just before Y2K both bic and sharpie released a large selection of colors. The reason I was so excited prior before that the only colors offered were red, blue, black and green. From 69 till then I was limited on color. Try to improvise other mediums with sharpie and Bic just doesn't work. Those pens will out colors the other mediums on paper. Over the years I created a technic to blend out the excess coloring lines with a sharpie or Bic..no need of wasting money on a high price blender from copic..wink. thanks for the great review

Aptly captured for the contest theme...
At least 75% of the image is blue! Great addition of red & yellow...
Excellent choice of subject.
I like the wide eyed facial expression!

Fine features & textures.
Great story telling factor.
Nice compact tall format framing.

You have produced a very impressive work of art. The girl's delightful smile and the bird's 'pop-out' like eyes are a joy to behold. I also admire that well detailed balloon basket that you created.

Kelly actually I'm a sharpie/Bic cartoonist..I marriage the brands over the years. This year celebrates a half century now of working with sharpie/Bic.. never had a art class in my life..besides over the decades it was a tough fight to get my medium accepted in the art world. Thousands of drawings later and my determination, well let's say today it's finally accepted..back in 79 I did this 36x30" of a kiss poster I created for someone. In 2015 I saw it for the first time in decades..it's still in the same condition the day I did it..proves this ink will last over time..another argument that other artists claim I work don't last like other art mediums..yep you can say I'm one of the original pioneers of this medium that lead the way for future sharpie/Bic artist..wink. thanks for the great review

i agree with you!! the sharpies and bic works just fine, i think you can get better effects/ lines and less mess!! lol.. i can work a paint brush but always go back.. the sharpies do last along time,, and never fade!!! way i see it is if someone got a problem with it.. let them draw something and not let sharpie soak in too much!! lol

What I like best about this is the expression on the birds face! I also like the girl smiling and waving. Her blue jumper, blue eyes, and the blue background make this a great entry for the contest!
