Nice one here! I like the contrast of the man on horse to the moon in background. This adds more dimension to the work, which adds depth. Plus the subtle ochre glow around the moon is a nice accent to the color of the horse.

You made my month adding that last review to promote this at this time, as it only lacked one review for ATB. It got a attention at first, but then my other posts must have been a distraction. Thank you so much! Have a great day!

I've never attempted digital art and can only imagine how difficult and complex it probably is. I need to learn more about it. That said, I find the piece to be aesthetically pleasing, interesting, colorful and well defined. The moon really grabs the viewers eye offering a nice invisible diagonal line to the cowboys face - keeping the viewer locked in.

Yes, well I learned vector drawing because someone had given me a copy of Adobe Illustrator for free due to the fact I wouldn't draw any more by hand, due to injuries. But the way I use the program, creating a composition is more like sculpting and model building. What is nice is you can, after building a figure, group it and move it around. The program is capable of amazing things, but it is very glitchy, and a terrible memory hog, so the more memory you have available, the more enjoyable the experience of using it, especially to do hand drawn work not composed of prefabricated objects, such as can be found in the symbol library. Creating your own work uses more memory....

Clever use of gradients here.
Digital art like this makes inspires to try it out.
It looks so easy and effortless.
Good hustle!

Vector drawing is more mathematical and like sculpting. Like you can more your art around if you lock the piece together. LI keep to the pencil tool and refine my shapes by removing "anchor points." I do not do anything the way one is supposed to, so I'm guessing this is why my work looks so different. I am self taught, but did read the fat "how to" manual when I first started. Illustrator cc is VERY glitchy -- it loses tools, freezes them and does sudden functions on you -- the art might not be so hard but the program is beyond annoying. That said, one can do beautiful work with it. If you want to try Illustrator cc as a free trial, I recommend one way to have fun to begin with is go to the symbol library and unlock symbols to modify. You can then re-lock them and move them around on the art board... constantly save your work or you may lose what you want to keep...

Ah thanks for reviewing this one as most reviewers skip it for one of the others!

Hey Daphne! Another nice digital painting of a horse and cowboy you have created here. I just love the hazy moonlight and how the horse and rider contrast so well against the dark night sky. The position of the horse is intriguing and provides the viewer with interest. Nice work overall :)

I especially like the soft glow of the moon and the action of the horse not being fully cooperative to his rider on his back.
Nice colors, details and framing.
Nicely done Daphne =)

Very cool work here Daphne. Your horse theme is always so well done. The pose / action of this horse and rider is eye catching. Colors are well rendered and the moon adds a very dramatic element.

Great entry for the contest Daphne and I wish you all the best in the voting ~ Steve

Great movement and I love the composition with the moon in the background. Don't particularly like the blue and red contrast colors but this is just a personal quirk of mine.

Your artwork very nicely depicts the connection between the cowboy and his horse. The details on your main subject as well as the full moon are very well done. The black sky in the background provides the perfect back drop to highlight the subjects in the foreground and to add depth and dimension to this piece.
