Its a duck a mallard drake by the looks of it! setting that aside he looks like he was posing for you! The composition is very good with him looking into the rest of the image nice shadows and light areas in this ! Good luck with the contest!

thanks a lot Adrian;
as indicated by Sange, it is a Khaki Campbell duck (she can identify all the birds in the world)

It is a Khaki Campbell Duck.
Very nice capture taken with sharp focus and fine feather details showing it's earth town colors.
Nice portrait style pose.
;)

I can't tell you whether it's a duck or a goose. Sizewise it looks like a goose..It's curly tail feathers are those of a drake it's breed/species is a mystery to me! It could be a hybrid Drake? A beautiful composition, framing & lighting taken with superb camera techniques & sharp focus. Good luck in the contest.

Quite an interesting entry into the competition posted here! Your fine and off-centre composition offers us a good look at your goose. Sharpness and exposure are good. Well done and good luck!

I am ashamed to admit that I don't know the answer. I can hazard a guess. Since it has flat bill and short legs I guess it is a duck! And fits the contest subject!:) Be that as it may, the pic of this bird looks good. Good luck!
