This flower has lovely color. The red is so rich and attractive. I like how sharp the edges of the petals are and how well they stand out and show off the textures.

A rare find!
I like the unique deformities!
Dramatic illumination casting soft highlights & faint shadows.
Fine features & textures.
Fantabulous color contrast!

Verdant backdrop pops out opium poppy nicely.

Nice perspective & narrow DOF.

Thanks for sharing...

Striking encapsulated red petals holding"the prize inside," for which the one long petal provides a curtain. The greenery around it,of course, enhances the red poppy.
Cordially,
Joanna Bachman

Splendid shot of the red opium poppy! You have framed it well. The light and shadows, colours and the composition have worked out well. Good effort!

My poppies look a lot like this one, especially after a good wind, and they don't last long when it rains. The textures in the petals are beautiful, and enough light is filtering through to highlight the poppy's center.A well focused, nicely presented image!

I know what you mean about the hidden sun and the incessant rain. A fine shot nonetheless. It is well cropped and shown in very nice colors and good detail.

Another WOW Susan ! How those reds pop out right at you like a 3D image, those greens in the backdrop also plays it part in that concept as does the light source, detail is sharp as it has to be with this type of image and idea!

Beautiful red poppy, I love the way I see her seed pod peeking out from the petals, beautiful detail is easily seen in the petals, well focused, clear image with good light management , nice true red and green show naturally. Well composed and presented!
