I would recommend that you try for a shutter speed of at least 1/2000 second and to use as long a telephoto as you own. In order to get that high a shutter speed you might have to use an ISO of around 1000 depending on the light level. This shot is well exposed but the bird needs to be larger in the frame.

Thank you for your advice,i went back out today and tried your settings and i cant wait to post a new pictuure with better results.
