I just love photos like this because of the simplicity and the limited color pallet. You have also captured a perfect reflection in the shiny water, and the very nice ripples.

Your focus is spot on and sharp showing such clear and well defined details in every part of the bird, and the exposure is perfect.

The minor cropping is perfect, and the bird has got a fine placement off to the right. A truly lovely and well taken photo, and with an excellent DOF.

Beautiful great blue heron in a wonderful stop action pose on the water, she is well focused, the image is clear, exposure is well managed, her colors and tones appear natural, she is well placed in the frame, the ripples on the water show her moment , her reflection is PERFECT! Eileen,
A very beautiful picture of this Great Blue Heron Wading in the shallows in it's search for it's next meal concentric ripples radiating out from it's legs & feet below as they move forward. It's perfect reflection is a bonus. The water is reflecting the bright sky above. Beautiful composition framing and lighting taken with superb camera techniques and sharp focus.Good luck in the contest.
