it is not enough to post any poor b&w pic and claim it is an imitation of Ansel Adam; he never posted such a subject and contrasted pic with too dark and too bright areas;

Frankly speaking I am not an avid photographer and was not aware of Ansel Adam till saw the contest title:). Nor have I have I studied his work or photography. I just posted a black and white image from one of the pictures I took some time ago. I have since improved upon the image after getting similar feedback. I don't know why the revised image is not appearing in my page. Thanks for the useful hints.Thanks also for your time and review.

Yes. You are right. Obviously I did not pay attention to the finer details. Now I have replaced it with my original shot with very little adjustment and a bit of cropping. I hope that this will meet with your approval!Thanks again for the postive comments and suggestion.

Much better! I adjusted my rating.
This is a lovely scene but I think your contrast in the image is a little too stark as there are very view middle values in the gray scale which creates a lot of hard edges. Your darks blur in some elements and make it difficult to determine the details.

Yes most defintiely Ansel Adams with the b/w conversions and the tonal ranges as well they are all there, all those lovely contrasts going on in them with the light and shadows of the trees this gives the depth, and more detail! Good luck with the contest!

I have at least a half dozen books by Ansel Adams and don't recall anything that looks like this one. A nicely composed shot that is quite contrasty. Best of luck in the contest.
