Cheapskate lol I read that this was a bit of a challenge going out to us. I have started one also. I like the coins, they have good detail and then the three hands almost picking and choosing then closing the fingers to stop the spending. Good detail. Interesting concept. I agree the copper is very good as it changes tone deoendi g on angles. Good work. Could make an excellent poster. (For a bank ð?¤?)

Thanks for the great review. I appreciate you taking the time, thank you John

The idea is great, but practically it didn't work out. I do like how you made it appear shining with some of the pennies. Ideally, it would seem that a closer color would make it more realistic. Also, the front of the penny.

They all are painted the same color, it?s just the way the light shines off of the paint in different lightings. Thank you for the review. John I thought the same about the color at first but it grew on me after about 100 pennies

Some artists were really fascinated by that word in your title!

Well, this is another version with an interesting impact!

An artistic rendition. Monochromatic colors. Excellent details & features. Impressive strokes & textures. Thanks for sharing...

I think this image has some funniness in it. How the hands seem like they are about to touch the pennies is slightly of funny. It is unique how one of the pennies has a roller skate.

Thanks for the review. Ya a few of the pennies have different things in them. John

The pennies look like they took a long time to paint then wait to dry to go over with the black writing. The metallic copper paint is incredible John. The way they shine and are highlighted is very cool
Great idea and fine tedious work.

I really appreciate your talent and spirit. We modern day artists are like blind people. We do not paint what we see. We paint what the mind visualizes. That said, I feel that whatever the medium, the idea that we bring out is important and relevant. This is an intersting and unusual subject matter done well. Thanks for sharing!

I think it works for the challenge. I find the composition interesting, especial how the light falls on the pennies near the drawn hands. I cannot find out how you made picture. The hands a drawn on white paper I think, but the pennies seem added. It looks as the pennies are made from some foil, symbols and writing were added with markers, and finally the coins were glued around the hands and alover the paper. The creation is surreal. It seems as if the drawn hands are alive and will be able to kick all the coins outside the frame.

Thank you so much for the wonderful review. So I traced a penny or and over to get the right shape, then I went back and hand painted each one of them with this beautiful copper color I have. Then I went back in and filled in the details in the pennies later. I?m glad you like it . It took quite a while to complete. John

Sorry it was all done on a 11x 14 canvas
reply by cleo85 on 17-Jun-2019
Oh canvas, sorry I thouht it was done on paper. So, do I understand right that everything is drawn or painted? How did you got the metalic effect onto the pennies? :o)

Thank you for the informastion. Its an amazing technique. Please, forget the question I ask in the in the reply you told me the canvas size. I ask before reading the current reply. :o)

This beautiful copper paint I have. I have to be careful with it , use to much and it can turn into a mess.

Great idea for the word Cheapskate John. All those pennies are very cool yet it is those three hands that makes this special in my mind.

Oh, and please don't take this wrong: If you Really wanted to depict the true nature of a Cheapskate you would have posted a photo of Me. Oh well you missed your chance.

Great work here John. very cool ~ Steve

Well look at that! I can see that this one took some time to complete, to create each of the pennies and show their copper tone and the way the light is hitting on the ones in the middle to make them shine! It's awesome John and it works excellently to show Cheapskate! I like the three hands , each in a different direction, each giving the okay sign. Very well created and a fun one to view! Well presented!
