You are correct that this is not your best shot but sometimes we have to take what we can get. I love finches and get so excited when I see one in my yard. This little green finch is quite pretty and I would love to see another shot if you can catch it. The wing blur in this shot tells me he was fluttering awkwardly. I hope you get many returns to your garden and thank you for your notes and sharing this specimen with us.

a lovely capture of this beautiful greenfinch, I like that the bird is in motion but the body and eye are so clear, set against a natural back ground and the fuchsia add detail and colour to the scene, lovely nature shot. well framed and presented.
thanks for the artist notes very interesting.

    Jo,
Thanks a million for your complementary review on this little Greenfinch that flew into the garden on Saturday in between the Starling's Raiding Parties of up to twenty Starlings of various ages that taken over if allowed to. I hope the Greenfinches survive to breed next year. My garden is alive with birds at present.

I can see your fuchsias are in full bloom. They set off this fledgling green finch very well. A nicely composed shot with surprisingly good detail in the face considering the slow shutter speed that leaves the wing quite blurred.

    Fred,
Merci beaucoup mille fois for your complementary review on this fledgling Greenfinch in flight landing on the feeder....it happed so quickly alI could do was pick up the camera point & shoot in the birds direction. Yes the Fuchsia is in full bloom so many blooms the branches are weighed down.

The problem of this photo is not the bad focus, but the colors and saturation over done and the busy background

still, thank you for the lesson about the birds decline

thanks for sharing

    Galia,
Thank you...I stated the photo was NOT perfect. The Fuchia is that red & the green that bright

The little bird appears to be fluttering its wings faster than the camera shutters!:) Despite the blur which is natural the overall image looks good. Good effort. Thanks for sahring!
