This is a nice clear shot offering sharp detail and realistic color. The photo has good dept and is well framed. The composition is balanced. This guy looks quite handsome. Indeed it looks similar to a rat. Nutrias and rats are indeed related, even if their species are on opposites ends of the scale, they both are rodents and destructive for their environments.

Nice close up capture of this Nutria who does look like a rat, beaver or squirrel. You caught him at the perfect time swimming. Good composition and clarity.

Looks like a large version of my Guinea pigs! Very cute, but I can see how they're destructive. This is a nice shot, with his head popping out of the water and the ripples around it. Great job.

They do indeed look like a big water rat. It's wet whiskers make the fur look less than soft but their fur is used for coats and such. They trap them in Louisiana and sell the pelts as a way to keep the destruction down.

Nice timing to capture this critter as he swims through the green water, he does look like a big rat , also like a beaver, he's well focused , the image is clear, I like his whiskers flat against his face! Well managed exposure , his colors and tones appear natural. Well composed leaving room for him to move into, well presented!

Great portrait of this nutria swimming, this resembles the beavers we have around here. Very well focused,I like the long whiskers and the detail seen in the damp fur.The ripples add movement and interest to this great photo!

Fred,
A beautiful picture of this invasive Coypu~ Nutria enjoying a swim in your lake creating circles in the water as it swims with little more than it's head above water. Brought to Europe for it's fur. Beautiful composition, framing & lighting taken with superb camera techniques & sharp focus.
