I think you did an excellent job on these roses. The flowers, buds, stems and thorns are all very well drawn. However, I do think the photo you took and uploaded could be focused sharper. The art itself is fine, I'm sure it's just the photo that is not as clear as it could be. Very nice work, it should do well in the contest.

Thank you for reviewing and your remarks. Yes I agree there is a better sharper photo but it will not upload. Tried many times also changed and checked size for fanart but no luck so stuck with this one.

I had trouble uploading my last one too, I had to use the email option. I think you can upload larger files via email.

This is a lovely rose bush with many blooms and blossoms in various stages of growth. You and I have the same problem: sometimes we paint to close to the edge. Your largest bloom that should be the primary focal point is cut off by the edge of the canvas. You have followed the rule of having an odd number of blooms which maximizes interest. One suggestion: retake your photo and repost it as this image seems a bit blurry and I want you to have the best chance for a win in this contest.

Thank you for a good critique. This is miniature art and I often do a part rather than a whole near edges .. the 3 centre were my main . I noticed the blurring and I have a much sharper photo but it just will not load up so I had to stick with this. Any suggestions as to what might be the problem welcome. I did check pixels etc and they were within the 700 fanart specification.

Beautiful roses , well created blooms with nice shape and structure in yellow with red outlining, I like that you also included some buds , good work to show the stems with the thorns and the leaves, nice blue background to showcase them. These are well created and arranged, well presented! Best wishes to you in the contest!

Nice creation. The floral forms are good. The details is good. The depth is good. The Shading is good. The blend of the colors is good. The creation is balanced and eye appealing to the viewer. Creative and good job overall

Roses are difficult to draw and paint but you have done a really excellent job on this miniature piece and I can understand why it has been used as a temp plate for tiles. Considering that you used water colour pens, you have done very bold colours for this and I like it. Good luck on winning this contest.

Fantabulous creation with interesting color scheme.
An impressive artwork rendition. Aptly rendered with excellent strokes & textures. Good compositional style.
Is the hazy overtone a result of gross cropping?
Great overall impact!
Best of luck in the contest!

Thank you for reviewing much appreciated. This has not been cropped at all. This was done 2 years ago and is in a gallery in Gemany whilst I am in Portugal: all I had was my photo record. The actual is a bit crisper but overall it has a dusty effect on the original. I tried to sharpen it but it is not a lot better than my archive photo.
