Woah, it looks like this took a really long time. The shading in the sky and the sea and the angle on the sea oats give the viewer the impression of a light breeze. None of the colors are too bright or too dull, they're just right. I almost feel the sun on my cheeks. Really great job :)

Foreground, middle ground and background, well planned in your original sketch for this watercolor;and, too, your gradation of colors have been wisely selected. From the impressionistic strokes of water and sky;to the more well defined lines and
applications of washes to the sea oats and greenery.
Cordially,
Joanna Bachman

Expertly rendered watercolor creation.
Diminishing perspective gives a better depth....

An impressive fluid artwork rendition.
(I know voters will always look for the traditional flower entries...)
Colorful (subtle) creation with excellent strokes & textures. Good compositional style. Great overall impact!

Best of luck in the contest!

Thanks for sharing...

This is well composed and you have created a beautiful scene. The beach with the background sea is perfect. The sea oats are an inspired inclusion for us to peak through. I can feel myself there. The colours are wonderfully representative of the seaside atmosphere. I like your watercolour tecknique. This is similar to something I have been experimenting with. Not so successful as this.

A beautiful & for me evocative of my childhood living near the coast where the sand dunes were planted with Marram grass to prevent the sea washing them away.. Marram grass is a similar plant to your Sea Oats. Created by your artist's eye for composition very skilful brushwork & the ability to convey on your canvas what your eye or your mind's eye sees. Beautiful choice blending & application of your colours in bringing this scene to life.

I think there are so many grasses that are beautiful. You have given the sea oats just the right shape of motion that makes them appear as though they are gently blowing in a breeze. Your shading and color blending on the sand gives the painting lovely depth and a realistic appearance.

I don't know if they will accept this image in the contest, but I love the image!! Love the way the sea oats are blowing in the wind. The dunes look very inviting. I wouldn't mind sitting or strolling on this beach. Love the angular vision of the beach it just invites you to come in! Very Nicely done! Good Luck in the Contest! :o) Helvi
