Excellent title for this heron,it does appear to be imitating a roadrunner's pose-lol! Your focus is perfect,i like the sharp yellow eye and the detailing in the feathers,and I can see water droplets near his foot. That 'doo' he's sporting is great,and I love the the surrounding leaves with their various shades of green and textures. You were at the right place and time to snap this wonderful shot!

LOL - You are right Grace, the bird looks like Roadrunner with the feathers standing out on its head. I also like the way it is walking and the perfect stop action. The background looks great as well, and the bird is standing out from it in an excellent way.
The photo is of course also pin sharp showing truly clear and well defined details in every part of the bird, and the exposure is perfect.
The format and framing is very good and you have given the bird room to walk into by the fine placement off to the left. A cute and well taken photo, and with an excellent DOF.
