Cropping has worked well as the heron has excellent placement in the frame. Very sharp photo. Details are well defined and photo is sharp. Colors and contrast in the background are managed well to show off the heron's profile.

Wonderful title , excellent capture - love offensive position - en guard
perfect composition with excellent use of space , perfect camera settings, super focus point , super sharp with genuine contrast and lighting . The background colors give you the perfect depth of field - a good one with a :) initial impact

Very nice capture Fred! I like his pose offering a nice side profile view , he is well poisoned in the frame leaving plenty of room to move/ look into, well focused! The image is clear, exposure is well managed, colors and tones appear natural, I see good detail over every part of this grey heron as he seems to be giving his opinion about something! Well composed and presented!
