Perhaps the frog is being relocated so the heron can find a fish!
Excellent composition! The natural framing surrounding these 2 is awesome! Superb focus and timing! Great job! Thanks for sharing!

A very good nature shot posted here! Your fine and full composition offers a good look at the action and the scene. Seems to me that it could drop the frog at any moment! Exposure and sharpness are good. Nicely done!

I agree totally with your introduction - I feel the same for fish and frog - they take so long to be a frog to end up like this feels terrible
but your shot is splendid and as always just excellent in technical applications but I have to look quickly loll even knowing he is already in the spiritual world - that's nature and we have to accept it even if it hurts - well done

you are very welcome, I learned as I could feel the pain of the animals who end up as meet in the grocerie stores - could not even approach and I do not.. we have to look deeper and see the origin of our creations and only changin our own attitude we can change the world - that still will take a while God bless

I only have seen this same activity once before. Unfortunately, we sometimes see something uncomfortable, but it is the reality of nature and the food chain. Your photo captures the moment. It is well focused, clear, well defined and very natural. It tells the story of the world we live in.

That is the rule of the Mother Nature. That's what is called the food chain. You have shot it well! The light and shadows, colours and the composition have worked out well. Good effort!

I feel bad for the frog but that's part of nature where they have to eat just like we do in order to survive. Nice capture of this green Heron. The clarity is flawless and the angle of view is perfect. Thanks for sharing

There's nothing about the picture to be 'put off' about,Grace!
It illustrates 'Nature's Way'
wonderfully!
( Even though I feel a little sad for that Frog too,my friend! : D )

Thank you Sean :) He was so close to completing his metamorphosis into an adult frog!

He can't be a prince anymore! ;-)
A dramatic, well-timed still action capture.
Pin sharp focusing with a warm gorgeous illumination.
Great story telling factor.
Is right leg seems dangling already!
Thanks for sharing...

I just got back from the Anchor Point Beach where I watched a juvenile bald eagle plucking feathers off of a fresh killed seagull, I'm not sure if the eagle killed it, I like your shot of the green heron with the frog in its bill, it tells the story of their survival, well focused, the image is sharp and clear, exposure is perfect, colors and tones are natural, it's a natural setting and a great place for this heron to catch a frog! I see good detail over every part of this beautiful bird, good detail in the poor frog! Well composed and presented!

Thank you! I wouldn't want to see that!! But it is nature.

It is the circle of life after all so I do not find it abhorrent. I always feel sorry for the frog and this one is so plump I wonder how it's bill carries it. That long legged stride and intense stare indicates he is headed to higher ground to dine.
