He must be tough. Those thistles have nasty little thorns. Apparently he finds those seeds tasty. He looks fluffed-up to regulate his body temperature. The photo is focused and has good depth. The shallow background emphasizes the bird well. I appreciate the realism of color and light. The composition is balanced. The close framing is adequate.

Such a beautiful little bird, I love it's vivid yellow color! Like the black triangle on his face, well focused, nice clear image, well managed exposure, beautiful colors and tones, appear natural, love the way the thistle plant is framing him. This would be a very pretty photo to add to a calendar with images of birds! It would also be a beautiful greeting card , it's so cheerful! Well composed and presented!

Such a beautiful little bird, I love it's vivid yellow color!
