I think the black and white format does help to give this place a more haunted and spooky appearance. I like how you used the gates as the entrance into the scene. It's a kind of 'enter if you dare' invitation :)

    Hi Grace!
    Hey,thanks so very much,my friend! : D
I had quite a bit of trouble getting this picture to look halfway decent ( I think the ghosts were messing with it! ) so I'm really glad you liked it!

Great title,Sean, for this rather creepy looking scene, made even more so since you converted it to b&w. Kinda reminds me of the words to "Hotel California"-"you can check out any time you like, but you can never leave."I'm getting a bit "disturbed" just looking at it,but I'm that way naturally,so never mind! Definitely not a place I would want to check out,I wouldn't be surprised to see "Gregory the Gravewalker" stumbling about some foggy evening! :)

This has a very eerie feel, that rickety gate left partially open, and the faded appearance makes me not want to go in there, it's well captured with good focus, the image is clear, it makes me want to know the stories associated with this place but I would rather hear it from someone then actually go in and check it out myself! Well presented!

    Hi Pat!
Thank you so very much,my friend! : )
( Actually I WOULDN'T go inside there! Even in broad daylight! A lot of people think I'm 'nuts' but the 'FEEL' radiating from this place was so powerful I almost started to cry! You hear a lot about 'famous',pleasant, cheery types of 'hauntings' ( which are mostly poorly researched 'come ons' designed to hopefully increase business at some 'tourist trap' or other ) but this place isn't like that, not at all!

Hey Sean!

I really like this one for several reasons.

In one way it reminds me of how time ultimately erases all traces of what once existed. The broken gates, to seldom visited potters field containing the markers of those long forgotten as will we.

Your rendering in black and white with a faded look adds so much to the scene as one of slowly fading from sight and memory.

Great shot here Sean. Glad you "resurrected" this one ~ Steve

The rickety looking gates are befitting g a potters field where those who cannot afford a proper burial are interred. It creates an old feel that is conducive to ghost stories and legends.

yes would have been a good entry into the creepy places comp. all graveyards would be a bit like this, especially in the latter hours. i walked through one at night in romania, in the very town of vlad the impaler. after that, none seem too scary at all. still with one you have certainly captured a certain vibe. the quality of the image does not distract from this haunted notion.

Sean,
this surly has ghostly echos about it with the headstones some tilted under the tree & the gates half open that appear to be made of the ends of a Brass or Iron Bedstead maybe it's owner lies within the cemetery? Beautiful composition, framing & lighting taken with superb camera & editing techniques & sharp focus.

Your conversion to B & W was an excellent choice for the scene and the story. Placement of the gates in the frame is perfect to get the viewer to approach, perhaps warily. The details and contrast are good, especially from an old photo.

Bit of an odd subject to want to photograph posted here! It certainly does look very creepy in your nice and classical composition. Exposure and sharpness are OK! Nicely done, woooooo!
