look here are newbies and it mostly happens to them because they are afraid to spend full points and they did not learn yet that taste has to stay away and rather a reviewer has to tend to the creator of a peace to understand what it is all about.
When that happens to me I 99% see it is a new person and answer in an explanation about what a review is all about and they understand -we all have a teavhing and learning task and that comes with respect too - never let you take down, I know how it feels, you have put a lot of love in this ....have a blessed day lots of love

Wise words. And yes reviewer joined July 19, has no profile or contributions. However not really upset there were a couple of pointers and I could see some work had gone into the critique, however there was no concept that the art may be a style of artistic licence. Thanks, nice to chat.

you are welcome I just wrote her an explanation how it works -gentle of course at the beginning we all are going through a phase of hanging in the air ... loll

There are some very nice details in this and it is a very imaginative rendering. My favorite part is the seated woman's blue dress. The colors are rich and the shading is very nicely done.
I feel like you were compelled to draw so much with so many details that the end result has become a bit overwhelming. I prefer the side with the mom in her chair. I think it looks like you spent more time on that. The composition of that side is much better. I do not believe the right side could stand up on its own. it appears that there was too much empty space on the bottom of the right side and that the flowers were an afterthought to fill it. They look like someone else came in and Drew on your picture. they are not of the same caliber of drawing as the rest. They actually look like they are supposed to be ghosts of flowers since they are just white outlines. One other bit of advice is under Alice's arm on her right side you can't see some of the grass in the back but the color does not match. Perhaps you struggled a bit with else's arms. They also look a little bit gray.my suggestion would be to not overwhelm yourself with so much in one drawing. Spend time on each subject doing practice sketches first. While I've mentioned ideas for improvement I see a lot of potential!

Thank you for reviewing ... the scoring is a disappointment I have to say However your comments are interesting and appreciated especially the depth and detail. Normally I don't defend what I do but would like to say the subject story was very involved. To get the theme into perspective I felt that it was important to show main performers, in scenery that was identifiable. Thus a busy illustration was expected. I tried to calm the overall effect by enlarging Alice (not a mom) in her real situation and through the looking glass I portrayed the fantasy of her dream. The daisies are part of her fantasy and have faces. She threatens to pick them if they dont so as she asks. They are in skeleton form to appear minimal and not crowd out the rest : I see your point though. You are right about the arm and background grass which I will try and correct, it looks worse on the submission as it's a photo of the real artwork. I do need more practice at this type of work thanks again for your insights.

I loved Alice in Wonderland when I was a child and read the story many times, also to my children too. I like what you've done with this and it's a great entry for the contest. I like the colours you used and the detail you've put there with your watercolour pens. Very imaginative composition. Good luck in the contest. Suzanne
