It's amazing that you can put together your creations so seamlessly. I would never had known that so much work went into creating this! The butterfly looks like he has been in that spot all along :) The light and colors are very nice in this image.

This is truly gorgeous to,maybe someday I will have time to figure out how to do this! The butterfly does indeed seem to glow,and from the markings,I would say that it is a Viceroy,it's colors and patterns mimicking the less than tasty Monarch's. Stunningly beautiful,this would have made a perfect contest entry!

I'm glad you think this would have been a great contest entry too! If you want to find some new ways to create play with your filters, that's what I do. You can get some very pretty results. Check out Photographic Plug-ins too! They create some interesting effects that can change the look of an image! :o) Nancy

WOW! This is very unique Nancy. I love the way you rendered the wings of this Viceroy (The Viceroy has the dark stripe on its hind wings where the Monarch does not). It has an almost painted look.
Great scene with good placement in the frame. The surrounding foliage gives a very nice feel for where the butterfly is. It might have been a bit different if the leaves and background flowers had just a touch more clarity. But that is a very minor detail and only my idea.
I am Very proud of you "Stepping out of the box" Nancy. It is what we are supposed to do. Try all kinds of new things. It is not so important what others think, although it is an indication if it attractive or not. The more important thing is to have FUN and Be Creative.

WOW! That's quite a review Steve! Stepping out of the box is something I love doing. I am always experimenting to see what I can come up with. It may be work but you never know what you're going to find. With the caliber of artist here I definitely want to do a good job!
Thanks for letting me know this is a Viceroy, now that I know about that stripe I'll know what I'm actually seeing.

I think I like butterflies better than snakes Nancy, and this is indeed a lovely photo. I especially like he dreamy look of the background with the pink blossoms, and also very much the way you have edited the photo.
The original photo must have been sharp, because it is indeed clear and well defined details to be seen both in the wings and the body of the butterfly. The exposure is spot on.
The tight framing is working so well, and the butterfly has got a fine placement off to the left. Indeed a lovely and well taken photo, and with an excellent DOF.
