Very good entry for the contest. I like the panoramic view of this abandoned village in Iran and interesting notes accompanying this. I like the angle you used for this. Very good lighting and focus showing a nice clear image. Good luck in the contest. Suzanne

A beautiful shot and a fascinating back story. I wonder how often towns were completely abandoned because of the plague. I like this composition and the striking colors.

This is a type of place we all want to explore. Finding special nooks and items left behind. You have captured it well in this shot. The feeling of decay, loss and despair is evident. Good colors and focus.

This is a great photograph and a good entry for this contest. I like the history you have provided as it helps set the seen for being "creepy." The nice blue sky is a great touch and helps the buildings stand out well.

This is a very fine shot of an abandoned city, it looks greater than a village. I imagine walking through its deserted streets and feel the power if illness despair and suffering. Ghosts is lives lived and lost, beautiful through day, creepy at night. The photograph has excellent focus and colour contrast. I love the blue of the sky and the orange sand coloured ruins. Your story is well informed, written and interesting.

A beautiful picture of this deserted Plague Village in Iran it's stone & mud buildings slowly disintegrating the stories they could tell being lost to time. The blue sky making the perfect contrasting backdrop to the earth coloured buildings. Beautiful composition, framing & lighting taken with superb camera techniques & sharp focus. Good lick in the contest.

A very good looking entry into the competition posted here! Your fine and traditional composition offers us a good look at that very unhealthy location. Not sure that I would want to go anywhere near it! Exposure and sharpness are good. Well done and good luck!

The very mention of this dreaded dicease ( a mass killar) sends a chill down my spine. India has suffered a lot due to plague in the 40s. Thank God it is eradicated now.Interesting shot of the unfortunate place. Yes. It is creepy. Good luck in the contest!

many thanks Sesha;
never completely eradicated as long as there are rats..
there was an outbreak in the South in September 1994 with almost 1000 cases; we had to treat a tourist who visited this area (I'm a medical microbiologist);

I love learning something new along with this photo. It certainly answers a lot of questions I would have had without the explanation. This would be great accompanying an article in National Geographic!
