More lovely "soulful art." This one quite simply conveys nature's moods. Love the colors, another lone tree and how you handled the perspective and subtle flowers in the foreground... My admiration! To me this also demonstrates art superseding photography in certain respects. You have a special talent for this in my estimation... Who of the great masters do you like? Anyone or style or period in art history in particular? Very nice, Daphne

Favourite artists... mostly impressionist Gogh and money in particular. More recently like Nicholas Roerich he is very interesting. Russian artist who connected with India
Look up the Roerich Pact 1939. Also a very new artist is Andrew Tischler. I started following him 3 years ago. He was just starting out. Writes excellent blogs and instructs too. His portraits are fantastic as is All his work. He is more photorealistic but with such punch

Thank you so much for your comprehensive update. On my book, do you recall what generally was happening when you stopped reading last? Like was I pregnant or returning to Guatemala with the horses or...?

I never studied art at all, mostly wanted to be able to illustrate my weird past since I never had my own camera; it was rare that I had the opportunity to borrow one. I looked Nicholas Roerich up and find his work very colorful and intriguing. The Roerich Pact is certainly a very meaningful historical development... Andrew Tischler's work is beyond magnificent! Both their work strikes me as quite grand in a very genuine way!...

Not everyone would know what rapeseed is or that it is a crop. The bright yellow fields stretching for miles. Nicely envisioned image of the fields being blown about by the impending storm. The dark clouds overhead being split open by the lightning. Well balanced scene.

Oh dear i see what you mean with that title something else could come to mind but many many thanks for your review, your rating and supportive remarks. .... and pointing out that it is indeed a crop.

I think your painting shows a lot of talent and skill. the colors are strong and show considerable contrast between warm and cool colors. many artist looking achieve color harmony use colors that compliment one another. meaning the compliment of yellow is violet, the compliment of red is green, and the compliment blue is orange. So I suggest doing the painting again using compliments of one another. Which means you will incorporate violet into sky and field for harmonic balance. over all very nice works, thanks

Thank you very much for an excellent critique. The colour pallet here is based on true nature but I love your suggestion of colour harmony and will definitely try it on this piece andthink about it more when creating.

Intriguing rape field!
A rare find!

A dramatic presentation with that troubled skyline!

Fine features & smooth textures.

Great story telling factor.

Diminishing perspective gives a better depth....

Best of luck in the contest!

Thanks for sharing...

Thank you for reviewing and good luck wishes. Lived your comments, rapeseed fields are not so rare in this part of Germany, they are truly beautiful in a sort of neon yellow and light up the hinterland no end.
