he is avoiding the water..there is a fish waiting for him.lol. the clarity is great. the angle of the shot of this dragonfly on the leaf is great. the capture of the light is great. the image is balanced and eye appealing to the viewer. good eye and great job overall.

at first glance, I saw a dark image.. but then reviewing this, wow, I see all the details in the head and tail.

Perfectly clear shot shows us all the details!!

Your background is also nice and smooth.

Great shot here Pat. Yes these guys are hard to capture sometimes.

Nice sharp focus with good details in all the body parts. The colors are nicely rendered and I like the reflection on the eye.

Good one Pat ~ Steve

It is awesome that even dragonflies are all different in color and design - these blue eyes are very attractive and standing out - it must have cost you quiet a moment to get this shot realized and even from a bird view perspective meaning that the fly had to come very close - your title reflects your patience and you really did a great job - fantastic sharpness - even the transparent wings are excellently visible in all details - great framing and technical applications
Well done

Wow! Another great piece you have here. The dragonfly is one of my favorite insects. The amount of detail you were able to capture is amazing. In addition the blur of the background serves to spotlight the subject. This is a real pleasure to view. Thanks for sharing.

Thought he was doing a 'Head stand' yoga!:) Lovely shot. great clarity! The light and shadows, colours and the composition have worked out well. Good effort!

This is a great shot Pat. Looks like a paddle tailed darner. You captured sharp detail of his design and nice crisp colors. The patterns in his wings stand out pretty well too.

Thank you so much! Mike told me that if I see one land to look in that same place because most likely it will land again, I was so happy he landed!

They do tend to return to the same spot within minutes and over and over again sometimes!

The markings on his abdomen are quite different from the ones in my yard. A very well composed shot with great colors and quite a remarkable eye.
