This is a good subject for the contest, your wife and grand daughter enjoying a picnic on the beach, this is well focused and clear to view, exposure is managed well, I feel that this is more of a snapshot for the family album then a well thought out photograph, it's the composition here that doesn't work for me, not your camera skills, I find the staircase to be a distraction and find it draws my eye away from your subject, I wish there was something in this scene that shows the beach.

thanks Pat for the honest review and yes it is a family photo as such,but as someone else puts family photos on and gets good reviews everytime regardless of whether its a good photo or not,thought I would do the same.

Well good luck to you in this contest, I don?t understand the way this is working , I know it?s very difficult for some people to review another?s work, it?s a shame when highly promoted photos get top ratings when they are not well deserved, there are too many photographers here that really work hard to present good images and art work, it?s a shame that it comes down to who can spend the most money, it sort of takes away from the value of the experience of being on this sight!
