Nice piece well conceived and painted. A very compete environment on the farm. Good colors (though I am not sure I have seen a blue tailed rooster.) You get a real sense of place and story in the work. Well done, good luck!

This came out quite lovely,a very likeable barnyard scene to be sure. The hen and rooster in the front really grabs our attention, drawing us into this nicely composed piece. This is perfect for the contest, and i wish you all the best!

Perfect for the contest, Brenda. Reminds of a farm I saw on a BBC show here in America on our Public Broadcasting Station. So it rings true to life. Excellent perspective considering the extent of the scene and its characters. So enjoyable to view. Best of luck in the contest.

Thank you so much for a super critique. Beamish is very typical of farm buildings and yards in the N.E. England where my home city is.

Nice picture. The picture is clear and I like all the colors. You are very talented. It would have been nice to see some of the details more up close. Very pretty nonetheless. Best of luck to you

The roosters are the key, very nice stance, and positioning to create a strong sense of foreground, while pushing the mid-and-background back into perspective. Your are very nicely placed throughout your work showing nice skill and talent for the arts, thanks

Hi Brenda, this is a beautiful scene you have created with the open air museum as your background, I like the way you show the structures with such great detail! The three separate buildings complete with windows, I like the red farm cart , the pink and black pig in his sty, the two white with black sheep and the hen and beautiful rooster in the foreground framed nicely by the green grass. Nice frame too ! Well created, arranged and presented! Best wishes to you in this contest!

This is wonderful Brenda especially the Beamish backdrop I have been there and remember it well!
Love the idea of using that within this piece and those two cockerals are superb and makes this image complete I also like those two sheep looking on a really crisp looking watercolour and as you say not an easy subject with the cockerals!

NOSTALGIA ALERT LEVEL 10 !!! This looks just like my Grandparents farm Brenda . I worked on it when I was a kid and got plenty of after work time to swim in the lake. I miss those days greatly. Excellent art work Brenda.
