Wow! Your picture is amazing! Great focus, the image is clear and exposure is good. The colors and tones are well managed. Good luck in the contest!

You did a great job freezing the motion of the wings. They show nice detail and the face is sharp. The colors of the flowers look very nice with the background.

Thank you very much. I have found that in full sun I can shoot at 1/4000 sec or even faster (1/4000, f7.1, ISO 800) in this case. Very glad that you like it. Thanks again.

Amazing shot! I have yet to be able to capture this bird! I know what difficulty can come with a shot like this. I love how you were able to get the wings in focus as they flap so quickly, and the colors of the flowers are perfect! Also love how you even got the flower in the background out of focus! Amazing capture!

Thank you very much. It was shot with a 600mm lens from about 13 feet. ISO 800, 1/4000 sec, f7.1 in bright sunlight. I recommend that everyone experiment with higher ISO, especially if you have a newer camera. Very glad you like this one. Thanks again.

Thank you very much. They seem to prefer salvia in my yard. Their favorites are Black and Blue and Roman Red. The flowers are potted so I can move them to get different backgrounds. Very glad you like this one. Thanks again.

Mike,
Another wonderful stop action picture of this beautiful little Hummingbird hovering on the wing as it sucks nectar from the throat of the Hot Lips Salvia both the flowers & the Hummer standing out in sharp focus from the blurred dark green of the background. All movements of the Hummingbird's wings frozen by your sharp focus.
Beautiful composition, framing & lighting taken with superb camera techniques & sharp focus.

Cool,Mike!
That's a very attractive picture you've presented us with here,my friend!
It's colorful and interesting and the 'shimmery' green backdrop sets it off nicely!
'Good Show'! : )

This is an excellent stop-in-action. The sharpness and refined details of the wings and head are especially impressive. The photo has good exposure ande the colors are realistic. The shallow background emphasizes the bird and the plant nicely. It is well framed. The composition is balanced.
