Excellent image. Since we all know how fast hummingbirds are I can't believe you have captured his expression. A fabulous captured image. Thank you for sharing such a great photo. It is probably the only way I will ever see a hummingbirds face since they are so fast. LOL

Understand your view about it being a front view,but it is what it is and I think you have captured a really good pose of this hummingbird,it makes for a different view to what we normanally see on these birds...Brian

Grace,
A beautiful stop action picture of this tiny Hummingbird puffed up the sun highlighting it's breast & it's wings outspread as it prepares to take to the air. Reminds me of a Ballet dancer taking a bow after a performance. Beautiful composition framing and lighting taken with superb camera techniques and sharp focus.

Never mind convention, sometimes, as with your shot, it is good to step out of the box! Your lovely image benefits from being well composed, sharp with good exposure. Love those tiny wings! Nicely done!!
