These are such cool looking moths. I've always admired their 'fur coats' and the texture shows nicely in this shot. The wing position gives a great view of the markings.

Lee Anne,
A beautiful picture of this large Silk moth ~ Cercropia it's wings outspread on the bark of a tree. Showing off her beautifully patterned & coloured wings. Beautiful composition framing and lighting taken with superb camera techniques and sharp focus.

Nice job. The picture is clear and the focus is good. It has good lighting as well. I think it looks good the way it is. Nice entry and good luck to you.

A beautiful cecropia moth. I used to belong to a camera club and we raised these as well as both black and yellow tiger swallowtails. We would always try to take pictures before they started to fly when all their scales were intact. This one is perfect and the setting is outstanding.

Thanks for the complimentary review,it?s nice to hear of someone else raising these. I have been fortunate in the past to find black swallowtail caterpillars to raise, but not tigers. I would really like to get giant swallowtail cats or chrysalis;I?m lucky to see maybe one butterfly all summer!

Very nice shot of this beautiful moth. Looks like a flying dragon. Nice composition. Not the best background because it disguises some of the details in the wings. Good focus, good details, good colors. Well seen.

Many thanks, cercropias have very eye catching color patterns, but I have found them the least cooperative of the silk moths I have raised to photograph, this one was a rare exception!

A very nice nature shot posted here! Your full and central composition offers us an enjoyable view of your beautiful moth. Like the wing detail! Exposure and sharpness are good. Well taken!

Nice info notes.
Dynamic diagonal framing.
Sharply focused.
Fine features & smooth fragile textures.

Monochromatic backdrop.
Would have been a me camouflage capture sans the orange color design accents.

Good perspective & long depth of field...

Thanks for sharing...

Many sincere thanks,I photographed her on some pine bark also, but she tended to blend in a bit more.
