It is most interesting how the wood surrounds the skull. It looks like a frame and emphasizes the skull remarkably. The textures of the skull and the wood are extraordinary sharp. The photo is perfectly composed, balanced and framed.

Eventually I am back from my 4 weeks holiday in Greece, and ready to review again. Then it is a truly pleasure to view such a great and original shot. I especially like how well the textures of the Wood are brought out, and how the skull seems to be stuck in it. The light is also falling on the skull in a lovely way. I also like a lot that this was presented in black and white.
The photo is pin Sharp showing truly Clear and well defined details both in the Wood and the skull, and the exposure is spot on.
The format and framing is Perfect and With the centered position of the skull, it is a very good Balance in the composition. A truly great looking and well taken photo Lee Ann, and I wish you Luck With the contest. Wish I had a 6 stars rating for you, but I have run out.
