Judging by the heavy 'La Belle' flint lock muskets and the white uniforms i'd say that these guys were French infantrymen,Brian!
I'm not sure if the French 'Grand Armee' of Napoleanic times still used White ( Imperial era ) uniforms though!
Regardless of that it's an interesting ( and very well photographed ) picture,my friend!

thanks GaliaG for the comments,actually its soldiers,the tents are where they are sleeping overnight,so really don,t agree with your comments on this,but you are entitled to your view,just don,t agree with it,more so as the tents are in the background,sometimes I get really puzzled by your comments on my photos,i don,t always think you see the bigger picture and are a bit blinkered in that respect.

Very interesting uniform from a different time period, imlike the way they are lined up on the right, and I see the tents in background, well focused, clear image with good light management. Well composed and presented!

This must have been a very interesting event. I like the uniform from days gone by in this image. The volunteers partaking of the role play seem to be enjoying themselves in this image. The tents are also an interesting shape...almost like large canvas teepees.
