Did you count them? For my birthday I bought myself a whole box of pens. Best present ever. This is definitely a blue environment. Do you know Brenda, although I lived by the ocean in Spain, I never see Spain as 'blue', and yet, not five minutes away was endless blue vista. I will take your word for it, that Madeira is blue!

Ha! Madeira is a green jewel in a blue blue sea. From Machico harbour, which is a tiny fisherman's area and hidden from the sea, you look out on a tail of rocks, quite dangerous at high tide, beyond are a series of uninhabited islands on the sky line, and this painting reminded me of that view which always mostly had many shades of blue in their crags and crevices. I agree about the pens thanks to Mr Flood I am now addicted. Lol. Many thanks for your review.

I like this! I too love the color blue and have it in my home against white walls.
I like the look of the ripples in the water and the small boats anchored in the foreground.
Fine details and nice blue colors.

That's an attractive colored pencil drawing ,my friend!
Regardless of what location it's supposed to be at it's a very enjoyable picture indeed!

Thank you indeed especially for high mark. This was a pure experiment in sharpies and coloured pens. I was more than happy with the result but just had the wind drop out of my sails. Been told it's amateurish, colours clash, not enough in the background...

This piece looks amateur. The sea needs more focused strokes rather than messy. Too much background and nothing going on in it. So of the soft colors collide with the saturated ones.

Thank you for reviewing. I accept the individual sees things independantly of others. This was experimental impressionism. Too much hard drawing into the conceptual background would have defeated the experiment. Your comments therefore have helped me to realise my final product achieved my desired effect. Thank you again.

I really love boats and also love the color blue! I really like the way you show the water, the variations of tone create motion , it's a close ud sky above and the hills in the background separate sky from water, this is well shown , the boats are awesome, you show the three boats in foreground and several more boats at midway, this gives a nice depth to this scene, I see three more boats further out in front of the hills. This is a great entry for the contest! There are many shades of blue! I like the way you arranged this scene! Best wishes to you!
