This is so pretty Pat. I like the lead in from the ice to the mountains. Fantastic colors, controlled exposure and sharp focus.
Fine work behind your lens ;)

Pat,
A beautiful picture of Reflections Lake with a thin layer of ice on which the distant snow capped mountains are also reflected. Beautiful composition, framing & lighting taken with superb camera techniques & sharp focus.

Palpable coldness as we can see from that snow-capped mounts.

Warm contrast from from those bronze colored "falliage"
Diminishing perspective gives a better depth....

Thanks for sharing...

A lovely shot from your frigid corner of the planet. A joy to look at and the leaves are both lovely and show you that it is ice that you are looking at in the photo. Love that sky and the warm autumn colours.
Is it tipping slightly to the left or is it my eyes ? By the way according to my fahrenheit to celsius converter it's a cool 79 F here.

With an eye for Mother Nature's beauty and with skill handling of the medium, you have captured a scene which looks like a painting! This looks classical in its composition. Thanks for sharing!

another fine landscape photo Pat,i like the dof and crispness in this, the slightly menacing sky also helps to make this an enjoyable view...Brian

Looks way too cold for me but I do love the contrast of autumn colors against the icy ridge. Excellent composition and the exposure and white balance are spot on.

I read yesterday that Alaska is one of the worst States to retire to for the elderly because of the high rate of crime and costs. A thin layer of ice must also be part of the danger, I don't suppose there are notices saying: 'thin ice' up there! Beautiful scene and autumn is here. We have bright red leaves on some trees!

this afternoon, on my tv travels, we followed a DESERT in Alaska which is waterless and often bursts into flame, but the neighbouring forests are slowly eating it up again! it is 35 degrees in the summer.

Yes, the cold season seems to be starting over there! Here, in the UK, nothing but wind and rain now for several dismal days!! Your fine landscape image benefits from being well composed with good exposure and sharpness. Nicely done!
