The pouch beneath it's bill and the dark coloration of it's plumage gives the creature a sort of a 'Dinosaurian' look!
And your photograph of this specimen as it 'cruises' calmly along,looks Great! : )

I am glad you sent notes With this photo, because I really wondered what was sitting under the bird's beak. It almost looks like the duck is eating a shoe. LOL Still a cute bird, and you have pictured it so well. I especially like the fine shine and reflections you have captured in the water, and of course also how well the bird is standing out from it.

The photo is very Sharp and it is Clear and well defined details to be seen in every part of the bird. You have captured such a fine shine in the feathers, and the exposure is Perfect.

The cropping is working well, and the duck has got a fine placement within the frame. A truly lovely and well taken photo Mary, and With an excellent DOF.

Good framing with the reeds adding interest rt of frame. The duck is ugly and yet strangely beautiful and I love the way in which you have captured him with the light brown reflection against the pale blue waters.

Excellent work on shooting a dark Color in the bright sun. White balance is controlled, focus sharp and eye clarity superb.
I hope you have a photo of the male with his stuff tail fanned out. I like to see that.

Thanks again Sandra, these ducks are on the threatened list I have only seen one on it's own and unfortunately not with fanned tail. Hope to get opportunity to see that this spring. :)
