Yeah, he is a cute little guy, and your sharply focused photo shows his fur in fine detail. It's a shame they carry the virus, but probably for the best. Without it they might be exploited as pets.

pretty amazing you got this field mouse before he scrammed off. I love the details of his "feet" the coloring has nice color and he is centered nicely

Is a cute shot of this mouse for sure and showing it in its surroundings is good, bet it quickly went of after you took this, looking down on animals does not always come off but guess that would have been difficult in this case...Brian

Thank you! I had to be careful not to make much movement so he wouldn't take off before I got him :) He did move away swiftly once I tried to get lower.

Here in one of our island sanctuaries of exotic animals, we have a different species called mouse deer--yes it looks like a miniature deer...

Excellent choice of subject.
Sharply focused.
Subtle lighting...
Natural colors.
Wildlife setting.

Thanks for sharing...

Oh sooo adorable! I really enjoyed reading your commentary as well, thank you for that. The notes are just as important as the shot. You have a nice, sharp image and have framed the subject matter very well. It has great initial impact and a joy to look at.

So a killer field mouse then.
Very nice shot of this little guy Envision.
How you got so close is a mystery ... but you did. Colours are bright and natural and the little fellow is certainly sharp with great detail in the eye. Nice one.

Lol - I guess so! Thank you for the nice review. I had to be very stealthy, because I forgot my cloak of invisibility at home :)

Hey Envision! A cute little guy but according to your description don't touch haha. There was just a recent incident of a high school student who died from hantavirus in Utah, pretty sad... The field mouse is showcased nicely and is well presented. Great shot!

Thank you! That is very sad, and the symptoms can take up to six weeks to develop.

Love these little guys. I had a mouse when I was a kid, White one though. I lived in a house that was infested with these little guys and my cat would catch one every morning at 4 am and put it in my slipper as a present. Alive and well. I would get it and through it outside, couldnt bring myself to kill them. You must have surprised this one to be able to take a photo

Thank you! I like that your cat kept the mice alive, that's pretty incredible, especially when my cats aren't so nice when it comes to playing with mice.

They are pretty cute even though a health risk to humans. Great capture with good focus on the huge eye. Excellent color and exposure.
