Very recognisable as Leonardo and to be honest I think it is the eyes that pull it together.There is noticeably good use of shading to bring a little depth to the sketch

This is a recent portrait where he looks matured already but still retain his matinee idol looks!
Nice resemblance against an iconic backdrop.
He has a coarse mustache in real life...

I think Leonardo DiCaprio represents a bit of old Hollywood in our modern times. When I painted this portrait I wanted to present the subject and background as more than just objects but as an ideal. Thanks for your generous review.

I think Leonardo DiCaprio represents a bit of old Hollywood in our modern times. When I painted this portrait I chose to portray the subject and background as not only as objects but as an ideal. Thank you so much for your awesome review.

DiCaprio is one of my favorite actors as well. I thought it would be cool to represent his likeness in a portrait. I also thought it would be fun use the iconic Hollywood sign as a backdrop. It lent a sense of wonder and surrealism to the piece. Thank you so much for your awesome review, five star rating and well wishes for the contest.

Your likeness of this star is clearly recognizable. Your detail work with the pencils is just superb as there is excellent dimension to his facial planes. Your shadows and highlights are excellent. I like how transparent your light beams are. The jacket looks as though it is made of green velvet. The details on the necklace and the plaid shirt are very well rendered. Excellent entry!
