This piece reminds me of a pug dog that has been carved from a piece of driftwood. The swirls and burls create an abstract face and the blue circle the eye. The texture is great.

Very interesting, colorful and unusual looking abstract but quite beautiful. It looks somewhat like the side view of the head of a Pitt Bull. Natural colors and tones in the scene. Good lighting, sharp focus, good DoF, and well balanced photo and nicely composed in the frame. Overall, a very nice abstract Photograph, well done.

Gee, Steve, another neat one which definitely has some personality. It looks like a bulldog dog to me painted by Van Gogh. So my title is Starry Starry Bulldog.

Wow! I love the texture and detail here and the blue eye! I can imagine this in a storybook about meeting mythical creatures in the forest, this is a creature with incredible detail , intriguing blue eye , and I'm thinking that it is a very old creature because of the lines and bumps on it's skin, the blue eye makes me think he is friendly . I like the grey color with the golden tones on his face. As I have mentioned before, I'm not good at titles but I think I would go with Creature of The Forest! This is fun Steve!

"Creature of The Forest". Yes that works Pat. It certainly would make a storybook creature. Someone with talent for that kind of thing (certainly not me) could take this in a lot of directions. Thanks for your great comments Pat ~ Steve

Wow FS, this is amazing! At first it reminded me of a photo I posted last year...Faces in a log...only 100 times better. My imagination is working overtime because all I think of is the petrification of Cerberus when I see this. Only one head of course, the one with the cyan eye. Wow, that'll be my title..
Cyanic Cerberus. I think this is an amazing and incredible image of wood in all its beauty and abstracted patterns and imagery. You've made it extremely dimensional and given it extraordinary depth.
Bravo! I love it!

"Cyanic Cerberus". Great title VO. Your More than Generous rating is over the top. I will have to look up the petrification of Cerberus and see what that is all about. As always I do so appreciate your reviews VO and look forward to them ~ FS

OMG - this is the ancient and legendary Wormwood Rabbit of the Black Forest!!! It was last seen in the woods just south of Furtwangen Germany in 1875. While several crude drawings exist, this is the first known photo of this supposedly mythical creature. You should be very proud of this accomplishment! Another little known fact is that the "Killer Rabbit of Caerbannog" (last seen in Monty Python's Holy Grail movie) is said to be a descendant of the Wormwood Rabbit. Well done Steve!

Dave ;)
(yes, Furtwangen is a real city!)

WOW! I must admit Dave, you are one learned man. That is Exactly what this is. Amazing! Now I know you are dying to know how I got this once in a life time photograph. Ok but keep this between you and me.

Since these are Such shy creatures, I set up a series of in-line mirrors, each reflecting on the other so I could get the shot from a distance by shooting the image in the nearest mirror which showed the reflection in the farthest mirror. The hard part was placing the mirrors (a total distance of 112 miles) and keeping them lined up. But something kept knocking one mirror out of line at mile 86. So I had to keep walking out there to put it back in line (that was a Lot of walking back and forth I can tell you Dave). So anyway, I Did Finally get this amazing shot. What was just as exciting was what I captured that this guy was looking at. At first I thought it was an actual Big Foot. But somehow it looked a bit different. So I went to see an expert to help identify what it was. (I cropped it out and will post it later)

Professor Carl Von Hineylick at the University of Hobsnobfilchen identified the image as that of a (until now only a legend) "Chartreuse Flatulated Flatfoot", a sub-species of Big Foot. I Knew there was something different but couldn't put my finger on it. LOL It was the color. Silly me.

He said that it is Very dangerous. If it ever sees you it Immediately attacks and you are toast in seconds. That's the bad news. The good news is that it is Incredibly Stupid. So in the unfortunate event you ever stumble upon a Flatulated Flatfoot Immediately put a paper bag over your head. It is So Stupid that it thinks that if You can't see It then It can't see You. Most people don't know that Dave.

Thanks again Dave for your Great review and Grand rating. Remember, Mums the word ~ Steve

This is a great image Steve. I really enjoy the patterns of the bark as well as the colors. I immediately see a blue eyed bunny :) The light is really attractive too. Nice work with the magic dust!

Thanks so much Grace. That is what I see right off. Most people are seeing a Pug dog. Kind of two in one. It is the Magic Dust that causes that effect.

I can see the pug too!

I find weathered wood beautiful,it's exposure to the elements gives it such a beautiful silver color and enhances the grain. This reminds me of some ancient mythical creature with a startling blue eye, perhaps some relative of an iguana. I think I would have to entitle this "Weathered Countenance "

A very fine image no matter what you might call it. It looks like a "Blue eyed beast" to me. I like the detail in the burl and the fine perspective that opens up all kinds of interpretations.
