Love that it's sharp where it should be, love the fishermen in silhouette and the whole ambience of the photo. Perfectly exposed and certainly worth being late for work for.

This is an excellent and unusual capture of early morning light. The reflections are impressive. The golden light emphasizes the dark silhouette of the boat and the fisherman excellently. The photo is well focused and exposed. It has good depth. Light and color are realistic. The boat is well placed into the frame at the left. The composition is balanced.

This is my favourite past time. I do not do it to make a living but just to enjoy the outdoors and to catch something that you can feed the family with? Well... this is such a nice photo,,I want to be there right now lol,,,look at the fog on the lake telling me these guys are serious as they are there very early in the morning. The ring on the water shows the guy just cast his line into the water. Very nice

I just love the atmosphere you have captured with this photo. I especially like how the mist is floating over the water, and also the lovely shine you have captured in the Mirror like water. The golden reflections are stunning.
The boat with the fishermen are standing out Sharp and well defined against the water, and the exposure is just perfect.
The photo has got a fine cropping and with the boat off to the left, it is a very good Balance in the composition. A truly lovely and well taken photo with an excellent DOF, and I wish you Luck with the contest.

We have to pause and take in the beauty around us once in a while. I love the mist rising from the lake and the golden reflection of the early morning sky on the lake surface. I would love to try and paint this is watercolor. Just beautiful with the light and darkness

From your description it appears as though both you and the fisherman made the right choice that morning. Your photo brought back memories of years when I was on the water at break of day. After I retired the fishing gear and took up photography, dawn remained as the magnet to start the day. For me your photo sends a message of priorities in life. The lighting sets the stage well and the ripples in the water serve to draw the eye toward your subject. Very good camera techniques. Good luck.
