That is certainly a strange looking flower and I don't think I've ever seen one before. It's certainly nice and sharp even before you consider it was hand held, so, kudos for that alone.
Lovely colours and nicely composed in the frame. Well done.

WOW this is a strong first impression of this flower - your super macro really shows this heart of the bloom in very perfection - every single tiny part looks like giant, is clear and sharp and your perspective creates the impression if the seeds are forming a dancing creature
excellent view point and bird view position - your picture has perfect contrast and lighting , is well framed in relation to your purpose and is for sure a good candidate for the flower contest - well seen , well done and all the best for the contest

You are quite right, the structure of these blooms is magical. I especially like the Close and personal approach showing so well the center of the flower, and also how lovely the light is falling on it.
The Focus is spot on and Sharp showing really Clear and well defined details, and the exposure is Perfect.
The square format you have cropped the photo into Works so well, and the flower has got a very good placement within the frame. A truly lovely and well taken photo Mike, and With an excellent DOF. I wish you Luck With the contest.
