Barbara,
A beautiful picture of this Painted Lady Butterfly alighted on the pale purple Asters it's wings open to the sun to show off it's beautiful patterned wings. Beautiful composition framing and beautiful blurred background. Taken with superb camera techniques and sharp focus.

The butterfly looks great with it's entire wingspan showing. The clarity and color are lovely. The details of the markings and the furry back look good. The flowers are pretty too and the colors in the background are attractive.

Virtual 6* non left, excellent capture- a very attractive picture , taken from a nice view point and great perspective -
your picture is clear and sharp with the perfect genuine contrast and lighting - the sunlight adds to the ambiance creating an uplifting energy
your macro background adds to playfulness in nature
excellent reaction, the perfect moment with open wings to see the beauty of the wing design but also to have the perfect balance in this image - A truly beautiful shot, well done

painted lady, they were so common and now are starting down the path of some of the other butterflies. Good bokah, good clarity on the lady, maybe a bit more F to get flowers in focus a bit more, anyway good job

This is a wonderful shot of nature. You have framed it well. The light and shadows, colours and the composition have worked out well. Good effort!

Nice capture of the butterfly and the flower, but the background is too bright, not blur enough and this distracts and pulls the viewer eyes form the main subject

thanks for sharing

Fantabulous capture with gorgeous color contrast!

Bright lighting.
Pin sharp focusing.
I'd consider cropping a bit f the upper frame to give more focal attention on the main subject.

Nice perspective & narrow DOF.

Thanks for sharing...

an excellent close up Barbara of this painted lady Butterfly sipping nectar from the unknown flowers; outstanding sharp focus with a shallow depth of field;

Very nice image Barbara. The depth of field works well here as the butterfly is sharp and stands in contrast to the surrounding flowers. The soft background also enhances the painted lady.

The colors are well rendered and natural. Well done Barbara ~ Steve
