I like the way this flower head is not sat in the middle of a gooey nothingness. Its background of mixed leaves give it power and a firm reality. I imagine the mornings in Portugal are sort of cold and the dew dries out quickly. Love that dew, we've had rain for weeks, the wettest autumn in years they say, and it is rather reminiscent of everything here, wet, wet, wet, which wouldn't matter if we had a spell of warmth following, but we don't.

Thank you very much for reviewing. I like your comments. However this was shot in NE Germany last month .. they too have had it very wet most parts but we were lucky much good weather between the wet days. Portugal has little dew...... its cold now but we do have sun and blue skies.

I like the color of this flower and how well the dew drops stand out. Your angle leads the view directly into the center of the flower where you captured nice detail.

This is a very special and unusual flower shot, first of all because of the angle and the framing giving the impression that it is hanging by the weight of the droplets -the dark background really lets the yellow stand out very well - it would have been a perfect contest entry of the yellow topic -
your shot is super clear and sharp - each droplet is perfect - the center really stands out in perfection - super contrast and lighting
a well composed with a super visual first impression, well done

Hi Brenda, this is just lovely! The pretty lemon yellow primrose is very well photographed with good focus, this image is clear, exposure is well managed, I love the raindrops and the freshness they bring to this flower, I see good detail in each of the petals as well as in the center. This is well composed and presented! Best wishes to you in this contest!

I've heard good things about primrose oil, actually I think it's what I use on the planes in my little workshop to keep the rust at bay. Anyway, it's a nice shot, the detail in the petals and on the dew droplets is really nice. The light may be just a little flat though ... good shot nonetheless.

[Taking notes] Primrose helps with menopause. I am not looking forward to the change! My mom was post menopausal in her mid thirties. I'm about to turn 36.
Thank you for sharing this delicate and beautiful photo of a rained on primrose!
Good hustle!

I have a few of these growing in a bed by my house, but it seems they are being crowded out by the Siberian Iris. A beautiful shot with great colors and crisp detail. Best of luck in the contest.
