Low Key Barn Swallow

I would say that you accomplished your objective as the swallow looks as though he is posing for a portrait. The lighting is focused just right to highlight the sparrow's key features and show the light in its eye. Very pleasing composition and well thought out.

This is a very subtle picture. It feels soft and peaceful. It is the lighting you chose that creates this. Your focus is wonderful. The details of the feathers, beak and eyes are so detailed.Your POV is good and the bird not being centered adds to interest.

I am loving this image. You have achieved your intentions very well.
The Key Barn Swallow's color show so nicely against the dark back ground.
It is an eye catcher for sure.
I would display this proudly under a light for a real pop.
Nicely done!

I like chiaroscuro presentations...!
Dramatic illumination showing soft shadows and faint highlights.....
Nice subject placement in the letterbox frame...
Perhaps you can use a reflector or penlight to make the eye glow a bit..,;-)

Thanks for sharing...

I really like the low key Grace, and also how lovely the light is falling on the swallow. You have brought out the fine high light in the bird's eye, and the Orange colors are glowing.

Your Focus is spot on and Sharp showing truly Clear and well defined details, and the exposure is Perfect for a low key photo.

The format and framing is Perfect and the bird has got a fine placement in the Picture. Indeed a beautiful and well taken photo.

Many congrats on a beautiful photo,I love how this gorgeous swallow emerges from the darkness into the light.Beautiful detailing and color saturation, you have captured the blue sheen of the plumage and the catchlight in the eye;the reddish feathers glow. Very well done and a joy to view!

This is beautiful in contrast of light and dark. I love how the bird forms out of the darkness and it's detailed only with some elements of lighting. I love the way the color is subdued monochromatic

I love this gorgeous, bright eyed-barn glossy swallow melting into the black! It both dramatizes the iridescence on his fathers and makes him look mysterious...
