    Thank you Contest Committee :-)

I really enjoy the artistry of this image. I have something similar that I did with a frosted lens, but it didn't come out as artistic as this one lol! You chose a great flower to focus on and then you did a great job getting the texture of the petals to stand out. I think the lighting is also very attractive.

Thank you Envision, I like the technique and am trying to improve on it. It follows the 90/10 rule, 90% frustration / 10% jubilation. Still waiting on that 10% ...
Thank you so much for the lovely review and the great rating

This is a kind like very romantic picture - I think your play-ground has changed into a beautiful soft and nicely enhanced image
your main flower is clear and sharp and the artistic modifications are excellent putting the rest into a dream world
I love the three dark buds coming out of the foggy zone
your picture is well framed , well composed and perfect style adjusted contrast and lighting
well done

A stunning picture of this Flanders Poppy glowing in the sunshine the flowers, buds & it's crushed silk petals moving about in the breeze while the blurred background let's us glimpse others if we look carefully. These Poppies hold the memories of so many young men who fell in battle over one hundred years ago & the sadly Less again than 25yrs later. Very beautiful & artistic composition framing and lighting taken with superb camera techniques and sharp focus where it matters. I love these Poppies too.

My Grandfather & his older brother both lie in France..the older one was killed in 1914 & his body never found, my Grandfather lies in the Somme killed by the Spanish Flu after 3 and a half years of being in the battle zones including Gallipoli leaving my two year old Father an orphan; like so many others.

I love poppies, and this is a gorgeous image,i can only imagine the time and effort you put into creating this exquisite photo. Someday I'll have to get Photoshop. I'm truly sorry that I have no more 6s,as this really deserves one,it's perfect!

Thanks indeed Shadow. Trial and error in Photoshop, I knew what I wanted, but, getting it was another thing.

I understand, sometimes trying to create what you visualize can be extremely frustrating to the point you get sick and tired of looking at the image!

I think this is so simple and absolutely stunning. The softness, the color, the delicate feel of this image, all add to the beauty and the senses.
This poppy is a true beauty.

A dreamy image reminiscent of a warm lazy summer afternoon...

Diffused focusing.
Subtle lighting...
Off centered framing...

You're so serious with this post!
(Oh, not...as I read the last part of the notes! ;-)
Nice perspective & narrow DOF.

Thanks for sharing...

I love your Orange poppy and all the effort you took with the various layers and textures. I find that I wanted more of your beautiful poppies than just one single. It is just that beautiful!
